The Creators Behind Pie Dive Bar

Alyssa Kingsbery is an Award Winning Food Network Pie Maker, Founder of Pie Bar, Author and  Clinical Psychologist. 

Hart Kingsbery is a well known Seattle Country Rock Musician, Song Writer, Bartender, and Artist. 

Pie Dive Bar is the collaboration of Alyssa and Hart’s talents, history and love of “Dive Bars”. The Pandemic pushed the couple to come together. Hart made a living working in Dive Bars in the Seattle music scene and Alyssa crafting her handmade pies in the pie bar scene. The Pandemic had halted the momentum of their careers and both were forced to change the trajectory of their lives. Hart moved onto a sheep farm. Alyssa moved back to her hometown. Hart tried Alyssa’s pie. Alyssa heard Hart sing. The rest was history. 

Both share a deep love for “Dive Bar Culture”. Hart and Alyssa both embrace community, people and psychology. The couple was strolling through Alyssa’s hometown of Snohomish during the Pandemic and spotted a “for lease” sign on an old Dive Bar. The rest was history. 

Dive Bar Culture

What is a “dive bar”? A place where you see the same folks day after day on their stools, not necessarily because they are problematic drinkers but because they’re after a third place, or that special communal ground that isn’t home or work. A dive provides. A dive gives counsel when sad, fast friends when lonely, and entertainment in the form of fever dreams: the snake, the spray paint, that famous actor. A dive is a place to reflect, a place to marvel, a place to experience people as people—sometimes at their worst, sometimes at their best, always fascinating, always real. ~Alicia Kennedy
